Second FOREU4ALL transversal workshop to take place in Granada

March 11, 2026
  • The second transversal workshop of the FOREU4ALL Community of Practice will be held in Granada on 16 and 17 April 2026.
  • Hosted by the University of Granada and the Arqus Alliance, the event will focus on strengthening the link between project management and impact across European Universities alliances.
  • 140 participants are expected to attend in person, with additional participants joining online.

The FOREU4ALL Community of Practice, which connects all European Universities alliances, will celebrate its second transversal workshop on 16 and 17 April 2026 in Granada, Spain. The two-day event aims to foster a practical and strategic exchange on how alliances can better align project management structures with measurable impact.

Under the theme Aligning Project Management and Impact: A Practical and Strategic Dialogue for European University Alliances”, the workshop will bring together members of the Community’s Project Management and Impact topical groups. By encouraging collaboration between these two areas, the programme seeks to enhance coordination, share good practices, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of alliances.

With 140 attendees expected onsite and remote access for the plenary sessions available through a hybrid format, the workshop will ensure broad participation from across the European Universities initiative. “By bringing together project management and impact professionals, we aim to create the conditions for European Universities alliances to operate in a more coherent, strategic, and sustainable way”, says Glória Nunes Rodrigues, leader of the ENLIGHT Impact Task Force, co-Chair of the topical group on Impact and co-organiser of the workshop.

From Strategy to Impact: Inside the Programme

As alliances implement complex, long-term transformation agendas, the need to better align management practices with impact ambitions is growing. Yet, in many cases, these two dimensions remain siloed—limiting coherence, visibility, and strategic steering.

The workshop will offer a shared space for project managers and impact officers to explore how management and impact can mutually reinforce one another. “By bringing our communities together, we are working to establish a shared language, clearer responsibilities, and aligned processes that support both accountability and long-term ambition”, explains Jonas Salz, Project Coordinator at YUFE, Chair of the topical group on Project Management and co-organiser of the workshop.

Participants will engage in peer exchange, guided discussions, and hands-on sessions to:

  • Clarify roles, expectations, and shared definitions surrounding project management, impact, and performance reporting within European University Alliances, to foster a common understanding and strengthen collaboration between management and impact actors.
  • Explore and promote synergies between project management and impact approaches, identifying how they can mutually reinforce strategic alignment, accountability, and continuous improvement—ultimately contributing to the long-term transformation agendas of alliances.
  • Foster peer learning and co-creation, enabling participants to reflect on current practices, surface shared challenges and opportunities, and co-develop a practical toolbox and roadmap for coordinated and impact-informed management across alliances.

The programme includes a variety of session formats, including plenary discussions, workshops, training sessions, posters and interactive “walls of challenges and solutions”.

The workshop is the second of a cycle of eight face-to-face transversal workshops to be held between December 2025 and July 2028. Each event brings together representatives from across alliances, external experts, and key stakeholders to foster deeper dialogue and stimulate cross-cutting innovation in European higher education.
