20 European Universities alliances are awarded Erasmus+ funding

July 10, 2026

The European Commission has selected 20 European Universities alliances, encompassing 190 higher education institutions, under the 2026 Erasmus+ European Universities call to fund their activities.

The 2026 Erasmus+ European Universities call allocated a dedicated budget of €145.6 million to support an additional two-year period (December 2026–November 2028). Designed as crucial bridge funding ahead of the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the call supports experienced European Universities alliances in scaling up, mainstreaming, and expanding their successful initiatives.

This funding from the European Commission will enable the alliances to continue their growth and further strengthen transnational cooperation through 2028.

Beatrix Busse, chair of the FOREU4ALL Forum Board, has joined the community in congratulating the successful alliances:

“From the FOREU4ALL Community of Practice, we congratulate all selected alliances on their achievement and look forward to continuing collaboration across the European higher education community as this new phase of the initiative begins”.
