In 2022, the University of Lille, situated in the North of F rance, underwent two major transformations - it finalized its new, experime ntal governance model, including devolved autonomy to its constituent compo nents, and it joined NeurotechEU, the European University of Brain and Tech nology, coordinated by Radboud University.
Can such new governance mo dels provide a template for the future development of alliances, in which s ome of the member organisations might wish to retain more or less instituti onal autonomy?
This event, organized by the Brussels office of France Universités (the French rectors’ conference) on behalf of the University o f Lille, wishes to assess the extent to which possible overlaps between the two governance systems may benefit the development of different kinds of h igher education institutions at local, national and European levels.
